The South Ayrshire Percussion Ensemble (SAPE) is a youth music project based in the south west of Scotland. SAPE provides children of primary and secondary school age with the opportunity to learn percussion skills in a group environment. The group consists of around thirty enthusiastic youngsters who regularly meet to play instruments ranging from the glockenspiel and xylophone to the drum kit.

The focus of SAPE is to rehearse for a series of charity concerts throughout the year. The ensemble performs a variety of styles ranging from classical hits to popular musical songs, all specially arranged for the group.

The group has recently returned from a trip to London, performing in several workshops with professional percussion players from west end shows.
